Golomb, Schwartz & Cove, PA, one of the leading accounting firms in the Southwest Broward area, is seeking a Tax Manager or Supervisor to join our small, professional team of exceptional accountants.   Your strong hands on accounting experience, combined with a can-do attitude will give you the tools needed to excel at our firm.

We are seeking a local candidate.  At this time, this is a hybrid position which will require a combination of remote work as well as ability to come into the office in Weston when required.

Snapshot of key accountabilities:

  • Provide consulting services and make recommendations to clients on innovative business tax planning and compliance services in a timely and effective manner
  • Review tax returns prepared by staff and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities
  • Prepare corporate, partnership, individual, trust and non-profit tax returns
  • Assist Partners in running client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget
  • Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing and meeting deadlines and proactively sharing tax saving strategies
  • Work closely with Partners  and Staff on client management, professional development and business development activities
  • Resolve minor issues directly with the IRS and other tax authorities
  • Assist with resolving more complex issues with IRS and other tax authorities
  • Participate and or lead client meetings
  • Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on tax projects and assess performance of staff for engagement reviews

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • Minimum 5 years public accounting experience
  • Strong technical skills pertaining to tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research
  • Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationships
  • Experience with Ultra Tax, Accounting CS and Practice CS highly preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Significant familiarity with QuickBooks
  • Bachelors in Accounting a must; Masters in Taxation or LLM a plus
  • CPA certification is mandatory
