Staff Accountant – it’s all in the details!

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for providing financial statements in an accurate and timely manner as well as the analysis of results and performance on a regular basis.

Snapshot of key accountabilities:

  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare and perform review of month end financial reporting including management package; financials issued in a timely manner with no errors, mistakes or omissions
  • Month End: Complete all account reconciliations with minimal unreconciled amounts and journal entries
  • Analysis: Issue daily reports regarding Sales and Gross Margin as well as comments and input identifying ways to improve financial results
  • Transaction Review: Regularly review transactions and posting for accuracy; identify and implement transaction and process improvements as applicable
  • Audits: Act as primary liaison for audits (bank and year-end)

Your primary focus is on producing results that are timely and accurate with careful follow up.  This position requires an analytical, inquiring and critical mind as well as expertise-based problem solving skills with a strong technical orientation.  Close, hands-on involvement is required with very little delegation.  You operate well in a fast paced environment without sacrificing the quality of your work.  You are known for maintaining focus on the details, keeping all financial details in an organized manner, and your ability to both identify and initiate opportunities for improvement and implementing change.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • 1 to 3 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Skilled at completing account reconciliations including bank reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles as well as basic cost accounting concepts
  • Strong experience preparing and analyzing financial statements
  • ERP system experience of value
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Bachelors of Accounting Degree required or Associates in Accounting with very strong experience
