About the position:

The Operations Manager will plan, organize, direct and control all operational activities for the Janitorial Division in the Miami and surrounding area. As a key manager for our company, you will be responsible for representing the company in the most professional manner, selling our services, managing and mentoring staff and demonstrating an innovative approach to stay current in the industry.

Snapshot of key accountabilities:

  • Selling our services by communicating our value proposition to leads and customers as well as enhancing relationships with existing customers and building bridges with potential customers
  • Managing a staff that will grow to several hundred – including hiring, training, scheduling and holding them accountable for outstanding performance
  • Mentoring the staff by leading by example, identifying high performers, coaching teams and inspiring future leaders, developing personal growth opportunities
  • Meet financial objectives for the division by accurate forecasting, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions
  • Maintain the highest quality to meet and exceed our customer service standards – inspect the work performed to ensure contract specifications are met, analyze and resolve quality and customer service problems, recommend improvements
  • Keep current on the industry by attending educational workshops to enhance technical knowledge, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks in the community, participating in professional groups

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • Minimum 7 years managerial experience in commercial janitorial or building/facility services
  • Managerial experience must include recruitment, hiring, training, mentoring and performance management
  • Must have managed a staff of at least 15-20 or more
  • Proven ability to develop and analyze budgets
  • Business degree highly preferred
  • Intermediate level in MS Office
  • Bilingual is helpful
