This is your opportunity to establish and build a Human Resources department from the ground up!   We are one of the fastest growing General  Contractors in South Florida and our 75 associates need you to establish an HR infrastructure to keep up with our continued growth.  You will own the development of HR including establishing a robust talent acquisition and management platform, as well as managing our compensation and benefits programs.  Utilize your self-motivated, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to define and implement word class HR strategies for a company based on a culture of accountability, high performance, and quality.

Primary objectives of the position:

  • Create a human resource department from scratch and execute as a department of one
  • Develop a robust people strategy process designed to attract, retain and develop a sustainable workforce
  • Drive our employee-oriented culture of accountability as we grow

Snapshot of Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition:  recruitment and selection, workforce planning and on-boarding
  • Talent Management: training & development, performance management, employee relations
  • Compensation, benefits and safety administration

Requirements:

Experience and Education:

  • Minimum 7 years as a human resource generalist with strong experience in recruitment
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management  or related business field; Masters degree of definite value
  • PHR or SPHR certification s preferred

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  •  Ability to react well under pressure, treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Strong business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Possess business acumen with ability to demonstrate and articulate a direct connection between HR activities and business results
  • Ability to assess needs of team and conduct business/process facilitation
  • Customer focused with excellent follow up and problem solving skills
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability to influence and coach others
