HR Specialist – bilingual

Are you an HR guru who truly understands what HR stands for?  We are an established company based in the Hialeah area seeking a bilingual HR Specialist who thrives in an industrial/production environment and serving a plant team in all areas of human resources, as well as working closely with the HR Manager and Corporate HR staff.

You will be responsible for fostering positive employee relations, as well as training, policy implementation, affirmative action, and employment law compliance.  We pride ourselves on our diverse workforce and seeking an HR specialist who champions diversity.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Administer human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain employee handbook, policies, and procedures manual.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Assist in benefits administration by communicating benefit information to employees including enrollment dates and changes to new plans.
  • Conduct recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, including writing and placing advertisements.
  • Conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career-pathing, performance, and development.
  • Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Maintain facility organization charts.
  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Work with management to seek out ways to reduce turnover.
  • Maintain human resources information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Safety Committee representative.
  • Manage workplace safety.
  • Maintain OSHA Logs

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five to seven years Human Resources experience, or master’s degree in human resources and two to three years Human Resources experience, or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • 100% fluent in English and Spanish
  • Advanced knowledge of FMLA, EEO, Workers Compensation, OSHA, and ADA.
  • Willing to travel for 2 week training
  • Advanced skills in ethical conduct and confidentiality.
  • Proficient problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
