More about the role:

Reporting to the CEO, you will manage all financial aspects of the company, ensuring Saglo’s financial health and achieving its financial goals while maximizing profitability and mitigating risks while maintaining our financial strength and excellent reputation.

Snapshot of key accountabilities:

  • Accounting Team Leadership: lead by example, coach and empower the team to perform their best in alignment with our core values
  • Treasury Management: manage each entity’s cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet operational requirements and financial obligations
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts to align with our overall goals and objectives and provide insights to aid in making informed business decisions
  • Financial Reporting: prepare and present accurate and timely financial/investor reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other relevant financial metrics
  • Financial Compliance: ensure practices are in compliance with laws, regulations, and accounting principles, including maintaining accurate financial records and complying with each lender’s loan covenants and reporting requirements
  • Risk Management: identify and manage financial risks and implement strategies to minimize risks; secure coverage for all lines of insurance and manage/report claims
  • Lender Relationships: build on existing and establish new lender relationships, source and negotiate loan terms, and timely reporting of financial information to all lenders
  • Investor Relationships: provide guidance, review and approval of investment offerings, SEC regulation D filings, administration of IMS Investor Portal, quarterly financial and asset performance reports on current portfolio of 24 properties and potentially up to 40
  • Tax Accounting: develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liabilities while remaining compliant, review of financial documents before submitting to tax accountants, and tax returns, timely delivery of K-1’s to investors
  • Financial Systems & Processes: implement and optimize financial systems/processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in financial operations; implement leading applications to ensure we are exceeding industry standards among our peers

Skills, Competencies & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a CFO in the commercial real estate industry; Shopping Center experience preferable
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance or related field
  • Financial Expertise: strong foundation in accounting, finance, and economics; deep understanding of financial statements, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and other financial principles
  • Leadership: as financial leader, ability to navigate through challenging economic/financial conditions and provide sound guidance to executive leadership team; as leader of the accounting team, ability to empower, coach, motivate and effectively manage the team to perform their best in accordance with Saglo’s core values
  • Strategic Thinking: ability to align financial strategies with Saglo’s goals and objectives, assess risks, identify opportunities for growth, and make informed decisions which contribute to our success
  • Communication Skills: ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders, including owners, executive team, advisory board, investors, lenders, and others
  • Analytical Skills: strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data, identify trends, and use data-driven insights to support strategic decision making
  • Negotiation Skills: ability to effectively negotiate with external parties, such as lenders and other service providers to secure favorable terms and agreements
