Our Specialty Structures group, a unique service made possible by the best use of technology and talent, is in need of a Assistant Project Manager to quote, coordinate, and manage projects as well as assist in the growth of the department. About the position:

You will be responsible for coordinating the work of your team and dozens of projects in Florida and beyond consisting of designs such as specialty structures, glazing components, product designs, and much more. Some of our cool projects have included specialty structural railing designs for glass, aluminum and steel for the largest commercial and residential structures.   Carports, canopies, walkways, louvered roof systems, custom staircases – you get the picture…  If you like a challenge, you will embrace the flood of to do list items on day one!

Snapshot of key accountabilities:

  • Respond to job requests and provide quotes and accurate scope of work on a timely basis
  • Schedule the work with the appropriate person according to work load and priorities of projects
  • Provide ongoing management of the projects from start to finish with opportunities to inspect and field review under P.E.’s direction
  • Assist engineers and designers in project design and workflow as needed.

Measures of your success will be your contribution to the profitability of the department, guaranteeing 100% customer satisfaction by whatever means necessary, developing a more efficient design, and continuously refining the management and quality assurance system.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • 3 years minimum experience in construction / structural / engineering fields
  • Excellent construction know-how of structural elements
  • Project coordination experience is highly desired
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Computer savvy including:
    • Excel: intermediate (able to access templates, make updates, improve on file data base)
    • Word: intermediate (able to type your own letters)
    • Outlook: intermediate to advanced (daily use)
    • AutoCAD: basic to intermediate (good working knowledge with ability to open a file, edit and draw as needed)
    • Ability to work with a web based project management system for periods of time
  • Excellent grammar and communication skills
  • Basic understanding of Florida Building Codes
  • Engineering degree and engineer Intern license optional
