Are you looking for a wonderful opportunity to use the breadth of your accounting skills with an elite and growing local CPA firm?  Do you truly enjoy being in a client-facing role?   If so, read on!  Templeton & Company is currently searching for a talented Tax Manager or Sr. Tax Manager to support our expanding tax, audit and consulting practice in our Fort Lauderdale office.   This is a management level position requiring the leadership skills to supervise tax staff within the practice and take responsibility for client work and client communications with an emphasis on small, medium and large private client service offerings.

Snapshot of key accountabilities:

This role will include identifying and implementing tax planning and consulting opportunities, preparation and review of client tax calculations, management of client tax relationships, and supervising and developing staff, including:

  • Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance expertise
  • Review tax returns prepared by staff to ensure accurate, complete and timely preparation and delivery of all clients’ tax returns
  • Review and perform tax research and consult on complex tax matters
  • Identify, research and implement tax planning and tax savings strategies
  • Review, supervise and delegate the management of “tax season tax compliance”
  • Manage and develop tax staff by providing coaching and performance feedback
  • Prepare and complete billing in a timely manner
  • Work with the firm’s Partners on client tax matters
  • Seek advice of superiors regarding issues or problems relating to compliance and consulting

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • Minimum 6 years public accounting experience (Big 4 and/or Regional Accounting firm experience a plus)
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Strong Partnership, S-Corp, Individual and multi-state tax preparation and review experience
  • Some level of C-Corp and Tax Provision (ASC 740, ASC 740-10) expertise
  • General knowledge of FASB regulations, GAAS, and GAAP
  • Experience managing 4-6 tax staff and senior associates
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Masters in Taxation or LLM a plus
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with tax technology similar to CCH WK, CheckPoint, ProSystem Tax, Engagement, Fixed Assets required
  • Client billing and administrative skills a must
