Do you pride yourself on your organizational skills, proactivity and providing customers with exemplary service?  If so, we would like to speak with you!  Amerikooler is one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of commercial refrigeration equipment and seeking a Shipping/Logistics Supervisor to join our team.  As the primary liaison between production, freight carriers, and our customer, you will responsible for ensuring that deliveries to customers are on time, correct and at the lowest possible cost so that customer satisfaction is at the highest level.

Snapshot of key accountabilities:

  • Proactively manage the shipping schedule including arranging proper truck availability to ensure the schedule is  efficiently controlled, costs are managed and there are no surprises
  • Frequent and regular communication with customers (both internal and external), including keeping customers aware of shipping and delivery schedule and ensure freight arrives on time; any deviations from the schedule are adequately communicated in advance
  • Control and manage the cost of freight ensuring the cost of shipment is as low as possible resulting in maximum profits
  • Expedite and problem solve when there are issues with freight and deliveries in a timely and effective manner
  • Supervise and develop direct report(s) to be able to step in and assume role during your absence or at month-end

Your primary focus is on producing results that are timely and accurate with careful follow up.  This position requires an analytical, inquiring and critical mind as well as superb problem solving skills with a strong technical orientation.  Close, hands-on involvement is required with very little delegation.  You operate well in a fast paced environment without sacrificing results with decisions based on your thorough understanding of all available information, detailed technical knowledge and consideration for all sides of the issues.  Organized, proactive and clear communication skills are critical for success in this position.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • 5-7 years experience working in logistics and shipping
  • Experience interacting with freight companies including managing deliveries and schedules
  • Communication directly with customers
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) is mandatory as you will be communicating with customers, freight companies and internal staff
