Project Manager – W. Babylon, NY

We are a leading and well-respected concrete and site development contractor seeking a talented Project Manager to join our team.  The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning and management of cost, quality, contract administration and safety to ensure projects come in on time and within budget.  Getting the job right is critical.

 Key accountabilities:

  • Oversee project planning and scheduling for up to 5 projects simultaneously
  • Maximize the efficiency of the team by ensuring the proper materials and workload
  • Identify and gain approval of change orders on a timely basis
  • Manage and process subcontractor requisitions
  • Work closely with project foremen to control costs and track material costs against budget to avoid overruns
  • Maintain strict adherence to quality and safety standards
  • Review subcontractor contracts to understand scope of work and interact with estimator on scope changes

 Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years experience with a specialty contractor or GC
  • Good knowledge of concrete construction
  • Civil, utility and/or excavation experience is of added value
  • Strong blueprint reading skills in structural, architectural, foundation and civil plans
  • Computer skills:
    • Intermediate Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera
    • Project Management software such as Expedition
    • Familiar with Timberline
    • AutoCad is of added value
  • 10 hour OSHA training; 30 hour preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is valued
