Opening for Sr. Buyer – Pompano Beach

If you thrive in an environment that moves very quickly and is always changing, we would like to hear from you!  Decimal Engineering is a leading manufacturer providing sheet metal fabrication and machining services for a wide variety of industries.   We are seeking a Sr. Buyer to join our team of talented professionals.  Reporting to the President, this key position is responsible for directing the purchasing, receiving and distribution of raw materials, equipment, machinery and supplies.  This position will involve tactical buying with potential of growing the purchasing function into a strategic/management role in the future.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and issuing PO’s (up to 400 monthly)
  • Analyzing market trends to determine present and future material availability
  • Assisting management in determining reorder points/quantities, costs/pricing and stock levels
  • Ensuring that pricing and cost data are kept current in the computer
  • Maintaining close involvement with suppliers, keeping abreast of product offerings, pricing, terms and special deals that maximize company profits
  • Maintaining accurate records of stock
  • Expediting suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Establishing an on-going supplier involvement program to enhance supplier alliances

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years in purchasing or order processing
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of MRP systems

 

Preferred:

  • Purchasing sheet metal or related products
