Key Accountabilities:
You will be involved in every aspect of the design process, from initial walk throughs to final walk throughs and everything in between.
Design phase:
- Assist in the initial scope of work
- Prepare proposals with regard to budgetary restrictions and client expectations
- Work on furniture and finishes presentation
- Select furniture and finishes for all projects
- Plumbing selection, provide Architect with a presentation of the selection for quoting and for them to obtain all specifications and requirements for installation
- Provide wall finishes plan and specifications for Architects to quote
- Follow up with Architect to ensure all furniture selections are drawn to scale and up to date in plans
- Review all drawings for construction and millwork with Architect
- Meet with Millwork Contractor together with Architect to go over and review together the initial orders
- Meet with Kitchen and Closet contractors to work on design concept and color schemes
- Participate in client meetings when required
- Work with Purchasing Agent on quoting for furniture, fabrics, decorative lighting, accessories, bedding and window treatment
- Meet with vendors to keep library up to date with new and fresh materials. Invite Architects as necessary for any construction related items
- Meet with contractors to prepare for project installations, i.e. bedding, miscellaneous accessories companies, etc.
- Selection of art and accessories
Installation:
- Receive and place furniture and accessories at final installations
- Ready the installation for professional photo shoots
- Liaise and deal with client issues or job site problems as needed
- Organize furniture, fabrics and window treatment orders in binder
- Make sure boxes have all samples organized for client meetings
- Handle any customer service issues vendor and/or client related when others cannot handle the task.

Skills/Experience and Knowledge required:
Must haves:
- Minimum 2 years experience with a design firm
- Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of industry resources
- High taste level
- Proficient with MS Office
Of value
- High end commercial and/or residential experience
- Degree in interior design or related field
- Bilingual is a plus
- CAD knowledge is a plus
