About the position:

You will be responsible for the full spectrum of an HR generalist including payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, on boarding, performance management, and compliance.

Key initiatives include:

  • Bond with our staff by visiting with each person and listening to their thoughts and concerns; work with senior management to resolve any issues and be proactive in reassigning resources as appropriate
  • Hit the ground running with our ADP payroll including entering attendance, hours, overtime, comp time, funding for direct deposit and transmission to ADP on a timely basis
  • Accurately reconcile Health, Life and AFLAC insurance invoices on a monthly basis by ensuring employees are added and deleted appropriately
  • Manage the performance and salary review process and ensure attorneys are submitting reviews on time
  • Oversee all firm recruitment including job postings, participating in career fairs, screening and interviewing, background checks, etc.
  • Coordinate employee training including monthly attorney practice area meetings and Lunch & Learns for all staff
  • Work closely with Operations and IT on establishing best practices to ensure a secure workplace and protect the firm – we go by the book and expect our employees do as well
  • Other responsibilities include tracking attorney CLE credits, payment of annual attorneys dues, obtaining attorney business tax licenses, and overseeing the Master Docketing calendar for critical dates

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • Minimum 5 years as an HR generalist including solid experience in payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, employee relations, performance management and compliance
  • Experience with ADP Payroll is required
  • Law firm experience is highly desired with knowledge of law firm operations, practice areas, and positions (attorneys, legal secretaries, paralegals, law clerks, etc).
  • PHR Certification, professional member of SHRM or other educational association is highly desired
  • Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to travel once a month to our offices in Plantation and West Palm Beach
