This is a remote position, however we are seeking a South, East or North Florida resident as participation in events and in person donor meetings are required (predominately South Florida).

About the position:

Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Development Operations and Services, the Grants Manager is responsible for managing the grants program, developing relationships with funders and community members, and providing support for additional internal and external affiliate messaging.

Essential functions and accountabilities:

  • Primary responsibility for drafting and/or editing copy for grant proposals and reports, and creating messaging and communications for individual donors including reports for individual donors, case statements, stewardship pieces, etc.
  • Works with department leaders to ensure timely management of grant deadlines, including letters of inquiry, proposals, reports and other communications as required by funders.
  • Assist Communications Director in drafting talking points, employee engagement communications, and other projects as assigned.
  • Review, manage and track all Memorandum of Agreements and contracts.
  • Participate in outreach programming and special projects consisting of community members and stakeholders in the reproductive justice movement to obtain new funding partners and collaborative partners.
  • Assist Director of Development Operations and Services with strategic goals including but not limited to: prepare draft goals, prepare and design presentations, develops talking points for the final strategic goals of the affiliate.
  • Provide project support in managing, planning, and monitoring key projects from conception through implementation.
  • Oversee the organization and preparation for grant-funded program activities inclusive of programmatic reports, site visits, data gathering and analysis, evaluation, and budget reporting.
  • Manage the grant writing process from start to finish including (editing, preparation, gathering of data, approval by relevant parties, final submission, etc.) for private and family foundations, corporations, government agencies.
  • Gather data from secondary sources such as teen birth rates, STI/HIV rates, sexual health information, etc. as needed to support funding requests.
  • Ensure program staff completes all documentation and reports in a professional and timely manner in accordance with funder’s requirements.
  • Work with Director of Development Operations and Services to assess funding needs and analysis of program strategies for affiliate.
  • Identify and research new grant opportunities.
  • Draft letters of support and Memos of Understanding.
  • Responsible for tracking and management of all grants, reports, proposals, tasks in the Salesforce database and in electronic files.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to workplace values of respect, caring, support, effective communication, teamwork & collaboration, accountability, and responsibility; practice these values in relation with internal and external customers.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors degree highly preferred
  • Minimum 3-5+ years experience in proven/successful grant writing and grant program development/management
  • Federal grant experience helpful
  • Ability to attend in person donor meetings and participate in other events in South Florida
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM of value
  • Strong writing skills
