Does the idea of parting the Red Sea challenge and excite you?  If so, we want to hear from you!  This is your opportunity to use your leadership skills in a growing not-for-profit organization with the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on our families and our community.  Temple Sinai, one of the leading Reform Jewish Temples in South Florida, is seeking an Executive Director to join our team.   Home to 550 families in the Sky Lake area of North Dade, we congregate on a magnificent tree-shaded campus consisting of our synagogue, social hall, administration, library, and school that serve our community of all ages and cultural backgrounds.   This is a new position that has been created to drive the business side of our Temple and ensure the advancement of our mission and vision.    Financial and organizational growth will be your top priorities.  You will oversee the Temple’s operational performance through managing finance, administration, technology, compliance and general operations and build transparency into the process.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Increase revenue by working closely and collaboratively with the Head of School and Rabbi on our brand awareness, student enrollment, tuition and fee structure, and development efforts.
  • Decrease operational costs by through improving operational and organizational efficiencies
  • Manage the Operations and Administrative team so that all operational functions are covered and carried out efficiently
  • Work closely with the Senior Rabbi, HOS and faculty and staff to establish, implement and maintain systems, resources and routines to facilitate best practices and financial success
  • Provide financial oversight  including budget development and maintaining appropriate inventory of equipment, technology, supplies and materials
  • Oversee internal and external communications to ensure proper messaging to all stakeholders and manage marketing programs designed to fulfill our mission and vision
  • Serve as primary HR liaison and management of recruitment, hiring, professional development, benefits, performance process and policies and procedures
  • Oversee and coordinate technology needs of all departments to ensure optimal efficiency

Skills and Experience required:

  • At least 5 years of operations management experience and/or project management experience required
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit and/or independent school setting strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in monitoring budgets in excess of $7M and in managing contracts of at least $100,000
  • Demonstrated ability in managing cross-functional teams to develop and implement systems and processes to increase  effectiveness and efficiency of an organization
  • Proven leadership in the use of technology to effectively manage organizations
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising preferred
  • Experience and zeal working in a Board led organization
  • College degree required with degree in business, accounting or finance preferred; Masters Degree is a plus
