 Snapshot of key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise our team of 5 engineers and ensure the best use of their time and talents
  • Schedule department workload and adjust work schedules as needed to make sure production is on time or ahead of schedule
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of the work
  • Ensure that documentation used is at the proper revision level
  • Provide technical information concerning manufacturing techniques, materials, advantages and limitations
  • Review new designs to ensure that parts manufactured meet customer specifications, maximize production efficiency and minimize material scrap
  • Develop work instructions and procedures needed to ensure outstanding quality and optimum efficiency
  • Provide all routings, drawings and support documentation needed to process jobs on the floor

Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

Must haves:

  • Minimum 3 years as an engineer in sheet metal fabrication and/or machining operations
  • Minimum 3 years  experience with 2D & 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years experience with sheet metal CAM software (Radan or Edgecam is preferred)
  • Supervisory experience
  • Thorough understanding of production equipment to utilize machines efficiently and safely
  • Thorough understanding of machining and sheet metal concepts
  • Experienced in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook as well as Internet

 

Preferred:

 

  • Understand the basics of business and lean concepts
  • Experienced in trigonometry and geometry calculations
