Construction Controller – Dania Beach, FL
We are a boutique commercial General Contractor seeking a Controller to join our talented team of professionals. Reporting to the COO, the Controller will be responsible for providing accurate financial information to our partners , overseeing the day to day accounting operations, and improving processes where needed.

Key responsibilities include:
- Supervision of AP, AR, PO’s, posting vendor invoices, presenting proposed payments
- Cutting checks to vendors and subs
- Create and update WIP schedules, job cost reports
- Establish procedures to track and file NTO’s and Release of Liens
- Maintain bank balances and monthly cash flow projection reports
- Bi-weekly payroll submittal
- Job costing of labor (payroll) via billable rates into accounting systems
- HR functions such as filing accident reports, expense reports, responding to employees’ requests
- Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and yearly closings and interaction with CPA and Executive Committee
- Research and recommend administrative related vendors (e.g. insurance, office equipment)
- Create internal financial statements and other management reports regarding profitability, cost control, etc.

Skills/Experience required:
- Minimum of 8 years accounting experience with at least 2 years in construction accounting with a General Contractor
- Knowledgeable of job cost accounting
- Supervisory experience
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with accounting software
- Experience with risk management – a plus
- Bachelors in Accounting or related degree – preferred
