About our unique company:

Pretty You has been selling high quality footwear and clothing in the UK market for 35 years and has earned an excellent reputation in the industry. Our significant customer base includes the largest department stores, hotels such as Bellagio and the Waldorf, and catalogue companies. No competitor sells such high quality fashion products at our affordable price. Our market research determined a gap in the US market for affordable quality, pretty slippers and established our company in Miami. Simply put, our slippers will take your breath away! We have also added a new men’s line – Ugly Me. Our creative design team has come out with slippers for weddings and Bar Mitzvahs. Plans are underway to expand our unique brand to other products such as travel jewelry boxes and umbrellas as well as a children’s line. There is no limit to where we can go.

As a family owned business, we all do what we need to do from making coffee, checking inventory, to moving stock if there is a leak in the warehouse. Our owners travel a lot and are looking for someone they can trust and keep the business moving in their absence. We want someone we can give the keys to and participate in decisions. Everyone on our team works well together and is involved in the strategic aspects of our business as it relates to looking for future products and providing input on item selection. Snapshot of key accountabilities:

Our ideal candidate will be able to look at where we are now and how we can improve. We are very open to ideas for growing our business and improving the bottom line.

  • Accurate recording of the day-to-day financial transactions into our accounting system (bank statements, invoices, cash receipts, bills, etc.)
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Preparing financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet)
  • Management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Tracking sales commissions and ensuring our reps are paid timely
  • Analyze shipping rates and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Help establish and manage our budget

Skills/Experience and Knowledge required:

  • 5+ years bookkeeping experience (manufacturing of value)
  • Excellent financial acumen and grasp of numbers
  • Strong understanding of credits/debits, P&L, balance sheets, credit memos, budgets
  • Experience with e-commerce
  • Experience in collections
  • Experience in recruitment
  • Interest in fashion
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Experience with MS Dynamics NAV is of value or other accounting software
  • Clear English speaking skills
